| The Deaf Development Program's core activities have been teaching basic literacy and simple mathematics, and researching and teaching Cambodian Sign Language. Since we reorganized in 2002, we have become aware that our teachers needed much more training, so in July, 2005 we closed the teaching program and began training the teachers in deaf education. Stephanie Cohen, a counselor with deaf students in the United States, came for the month of August to provide the training at the DDP office in Phnom Penh.> |
